Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills

In today’s workplace, employees are constantly expected to interpret information, assess situations, and make sound judgments—often with incomplete or conflicting data. Critical thinking and analytical skills enable individuals to move beyond assumptions, opinions, and reactive thinking toward objective, evidence-based reasoning. This course focuses on how people think, evaluate information, and make decisions, equipping participants with practical tools to analyze situations clearly, reduce bias, manage risk, and support better workplace decisions.

Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Think critically rather than reactively to workplace situations
  • Distinguish facts, assumptions, and opinions
  • Analyze information and data objectively
  • Evaluate arguments, perspectives, and implications
  • Recognize cognitive biases that affect judgment
  • Make informed, analytical decisions under uncertainty

Who This Course Is For
  • Non-supervisory key personnel
  • Analysts, coordinators, and specialists
  • Administrative and operations staff
  • Employees who regularly interpret data or reports
  • Team members involved in decision support

This course does not focus on leadership authority or complex problem-solving models.  This course is applicable across industries and roles.

Methodology 1: Guided Analysis and Discussion
Participants examine workplace examples involving assumptions, poor reasoning, or incomplete analysis. Facilitated discussion highlights how different thinking approaches lead to different outcomes.

Methodology 2: Short Analytical Exercises
Learners practice identifying facts, evaluating arguments, spotting bias, and interpreting data through structured, bite-sized exercises. Emphasis is on thinking quality rather than arriving at a single “correct” answer.
